This three-storey Cabbagetown home underwent a full gut renovation, including a third-floor addition and basement underpinning and extension, transforming the property into a modern family home designed for everyday living.

The homeowners were drawn to a more contemporary interior with subtle West Coast influences, incorporating natural textures, layered materials, and moments of colour to bring warmth and personality to the space.

A common challenge in many Toronto homes is storage, so improving functionality and flow became a key focus throughout the renovation. Custom built-in millwork was integrated into the entryway to create a landing spot for the home’s main entry, while the living room provides a cozy spot to curl up by the two-sided corner fireplace.

The galley kitchen was carefully planned to maximize both storage and usability, featuring expansive counter space, integrated pantry storage, and built-in appliances, all while maintaining a direct connection to the backyard retreat for effortless indoor-outdoor living.

To improve the day-to-day functionality of the home, the laundry room was relocated from the basement to the second floor, creating a brighter and far more accessible space for the family.

The third-floor primary suite became a defining feature of the renovation. By raising the ceilings and introducing additional natural light, the space now feels open, calm, and expansive. Custom millwork and a thoughtfully designed ensuite bathroom complete the retreat, bringing together comfort, practicality, and a truly elevated experience.
